Other Reviews for Best Place to Order Flowers Online

We don’t stop our reviews with our top three choices — far from it! Below you’ll find an alphabetical listing of additional online flower delivery reviews to help you find the best online flowers with the products/features you want.

1-800-Flowers | The BouqsFlower Delivery Express | Flower.com | ProFlowersSendFlowers.com | Teleflora

1800Flowers Review

1-800-Flowers logo

Visit Website

1-800-Flowers gives FTD stiff competition for the wide variety of arrangements, floral products and non-floral gifts compared to their competitors. Their website is easy to search, and they offer a number of discounts and loyalty programs, making it convenient to send flowers online. And like FTD, 1-800-Flowers holds both Veriflora and Fair Trade designations for their eco-friendly practices. Their shipping rates are more affordable compared to FTD, and 1-800-Flowers offers live chat, whereas FTD does not. So, what kept 1-800-Flowers from being our pick for Best Product Variety? Their product pricing is generally more expensive, and we found a much greater percentage of consumer complaints about flowers being delivered wilted or not being delivered at all. Still, it was a close race between the two, and 1-800-Flowers is definitely worth consideration.

Pros

Cons

  • Excellent delivery options, 7 days a week and holidays in many locations
  • Huge variety of floral and non-floral products
  • Personalized gift options available
  • Impressive wedding collections (not quite as extensive as FTD)
  • Eco-friendly practices, with Veriflora and Fair Trade designations
  • Can customize some floral arrangements (only service we reviewed that offers this option)
  • Order cancellation up until order en route
  • 24/7 customer service via phone and live chat
  • Product pricing on the high side
  • Service/shipping charges higher than most
  • A number of consumer complaints about delivery problems not being resolved appropriately

Pricing

  • $59.99 for one dozen long-stemmed red roses with a vase
  • $14.99 next-day shipping

The Bouqs Review

The Bouqs logo

Visit Website

If you’re looking for a unique, totally eco-friendly online flower delivery service, The Bouqs is your go-to site. The Bouqs is a niche flower delivery service, for sure — you’re not going to get the traditional gift baskets, live plants or other add-ons or even vases. But that’s not their thing. What you will get is beautiful, fresh-cut flowers that were grown solely in eco-friendly, sustainable farms that respect the environment and farm workers. Their flowers are cut only when you place your order. How do they stay fresh? If you order from their California farms, you get same-day delivery. And if you order their volcano-grown flowers from South America, they only use cold-storage for four days (compared to up to two weeks with other services). Less energy used! You can even setup a subscription, so you get flowers delivered regularly. Devoted to being earth-friendly? The Bouqs is the service for you!

Pros

Cons

  • Competitive pricing for flowers
  • Free shipping
  • Huge focus on environmentally friendly practices — many of their flowers are grown on the side of a volcano in South America
  • Company is committed to charitable contributions
  • 24/7 customer service via email
  • No delivery on Sundays and Mondays
  • Variety is limited to fresh flowers (no vase)
  • No wedding collection, gift baskets, balloons, other add-ons, or personalized gifts
  • Cancellation policy not available on website
  • No live chat or phone customer service 24/7

Pricing

  • $50 for a dozen long-stemmed red roses (no vase available)
  • Free shipping, 3 business days earliest delivery available (from California farms)
  • Free shipping, 1 week average from Volcano collection

Flower Delivery Express Review (Closed in 2016)

Flower Delivery Express logo

Editor’s note: As of February 2017, it appears that Flower Delivery Express has closed. We are monitoring the situation.

Flower Delivery Express delivers nationwide in the U.S. and to more than 80 countries internationally. Their selections are sparse compared to most of our other flower delivery reviews. If you’re looking for almost anything other than flower arrangements, you should look elsewhere. The do have a few gift baskets and live plants but no wedding or prom products and no personalized gifts. What are their positives? FlowerDeliveryExpress.com offers Sunday delivery (for a reasonable added fee), and you have a no-vase option, which can cut down on your costs. But, unlike other services, they charge a $4.99 fee for an enclosure card, which seems pretty steep to us.

Pros

Cons

  • Competitive pricing for products and service/shipping fees
  • Delivery 7 days a week
  • 24/7 phone customer service
  • Contribute to charitable organizations (but don’t list eco-friendly practices)
  • Much smaller variety and selection than competitors
  • No wedding collections or personalized gifts
  • No live chat
  • 30% cancellation fee

Pricing

  • $51.97 for 18 long-stemmed red roses, no vase (we couldn’t find a dozen roses product)
  • $6.99 vase
  • $4.99 enclosure card
  • Shipping/service rates: 3-day $2.99; same-day $6.99; Sunday $9.99

Flower.com Review

Flower.com logo

Visit Website

Flower.com offers an extensive selection of bouquets for all kinds of occasions, but they have no wedding products. Their delivery area is also wide including all 50 states and some international deliveries. Their floral arrangements are lovely and fresh. You can choose delivery via a local florist or a shipping service. What really stands out with Flower.com is their huge selection of high-quality gift baskets, balloons, chocolates and other “sides.” You can order everything from Godiva to guava fruit, either separately or in combination with a bouquet.

Pros

Cons

  • Competitive service/shipping rates
  • Wide selection of floral bouquets and gift baskets
  • Good cancellation policy
  • 24/7 customer service via phone and live chat
  • Products on the pricey side
  • Delivery unavailable in most cities on weekends and holidays
  • No personalized gifts
  • No wedding collection
  • No eco-friendly practices

Pricing

  • $59.99 one dozen long-stemmed red roses in a vase
  • $9.99 shipping

ProFlowers Review

ProFlowers logo

Visit Website

ProFlowers’ parent company is online floral giant FTD, but there are definite differences between the two sites. ProFlowers doesn’t offer nearly the variety of products that FTD does. However, they do have a great selection compared to many other services. Their flower arrangements and gift baskets are modern and sleek (with fun and cute options as well). We were especially impressed with the variety and reasonable pricing of their fruit and gift baskets. The major difference with ProFlowers is that nearly all of their flowers are delivered in a box with a hydrating sponge and vase, but you’re responsible for arranging them. Depending on the occasion, this could take away some of the wow factor you’re seeking.

Pros

Cons

  • Competitive product pricing
  • Good variety of flowers, gift baskets, candy, balloons, etc.
  • Extensive wedding collection
  • Personalized gifts available
  • Can cancel your order up until it’s en route
  • Eco-friendly practices, with Veriflora and Fair Trade designations
  • 24/7 customer service via phone
  • Service/shipping rates are higher than many (about on par with 1-800-Flowers)
  • Many deliveries require you to arrange flowers yourself
  • A large number of consumer complaints compared to other services about flower quality, delivery problems, etc.

Pricing

  • $49.97 for one dozen, long-stemmed red roses with a vase
  • $14.99 two business days shipping (additional $14.99 for next-day shipping)

Send Flowers Review

Send Flowers logo

Visit Website

There’s really nothing that sets SendFlowers.com apart from the rest of the pack, but that doesn’t mean they’re not worth consideration. Like FlowerDeliveryExpress.com, SendFlowers.com offers some great deals on floral arrangements if you order a few days ahead of time (and they don’t charge an additional fee for an enclosure card). Their website’s search features are good, and they have a wide variety of bouquets, gift baskets, balloons and candy. But we couldn’t find information about service/shipping charges, their cancellation policy, or order tracking, so their website is fairly bare bones on the business side. If you’re looking for a good deal, see what Send Flowers has to offer.

Pros

Cons

  • Wide variety of floral arrangements, gift baskets and other non-floral gifts
  • Delivery 7 days per week
  • Good selection of wedding flowers and products
  • 24/7 customer service via phone and email
  • Among the most expensive of our reviewed services
  • Service/shipping rates not readily available
  • Cancellation policy not available on website
  • No eco-friendly or charitable practices
  • No live chat

Pricing

  • $67.99 one dozen long-stemmed red roses in a vase
  • Available for same day shipping but service/shipping fees not available until you enter your credit card information

Teleflora Review

Teleflora logo

Visit Website

Teleflora’s U.S. coverage is extensive, and they also handle international deliveries (all from partnerships with local florists). Their bragging rights? Their arrangements always arrive in a vase and never in a box. This is a big plus if you’re going for the wow factor with your gift. They have a good variety of arrangements for almost any occasion, although they don’t do wedding flowers. Their flower baskets and gift baskets are pricey, and you don’t get quite as much variety as with our top three winners. Still, Teleflora is definitely worth consideration for your traditional flower delivery events.

Pros

Cons

  • Good delivery options, 7 days/week and holidays
  • Good variety of arrangements, gift baskets and add-ons
  • Can cancel your order up until it’s in process at the florist
  • All flowers delivered in a vase
  • Gives to charitable organizations (although no information about eco-friendly practices)
  • Among the most expensive for product pricing and service/shipping charges we reviewed
  • No wedding collections or personalized gifts
  • Customer service hours are unlisted, but they offer phone and email support

Pricing

  • $67.95 for a dozen long-stemmed red roses in a vase
  • $15.99 flat-rate shipping

What Are Eco-Friendly Growing Practices?

Check out The Bouqs’ video below to see how one Ecuadorian farm cares for their flowers — and the environment.

Online Flowers Are A Blooming Business

More than 14.5 million U.S. consumers purchased flowers online last year. According to Statista, and that number continues to grow every year. Whether you’re looking for fresh flowers regularly delivered to your home or as a gift for your loved one, you can find almost anything on the sites we’ve reviewed here. We were surprised with our research to find so many services for flowers online that are committed to environmentally friendly practices. Ordering online is an easy way to save yourself the time and effort from having to go to a florist. And, unlike your usual floral purchases, you know you’re ordering flowers from a company that’s committed to being one of the earth’s friends.

What has your experience been with ordering flowers online?

Sally is a huge fan of fresh, organic food. One of her favorite hobbies is cooking with as many fresh herbs, spices and veggies as possible. And she's devoted to her all-natural skin products and cosmetics. It's saved her and her daughter from the curse of skin allergies. When she's not writing and researching (and being a Mom), you can find Sally getting down to earth in her home garden.

ProFlowers sent dying flowers in a plastic pot without the vase. When I called in, the phone disconnected 2 times after 20-30 minute waits per phone call. Customer service was incredibly rude and stated that they would replace the order but it would arrive in 3 weeks!!!! This was a Valentines Day order!! Offered no other compensation. Disgusting corporation with disgusting service. NEVER ORDER FROM PROFLOWERS!!!!
