Before writing this article, I searched for the best solar charger because I wanted something to recharge my GoPro and other USB rechargeable devices for my hiking trips. This is the solar-powered battery charger I chose, and I’ve been very pleased with its performance.
It has dual USB ports, which have rubber caps to keep them protected from water and dirt. The Dizaul only weighs about 2.5 pounds, so it doesn’t add much weight to my pack, and it can clip onto my bag’s strap so it can be charging while I’m hiking.
It takes about two hours to charge a smartphone. The Dizaul charges best in strong sunlight, and once you’re back on the grid, it takes six to seven hours to recharge by AC. One word of caution, make sure you do not leave this or any lithium-ion battery-powered product in a hot car because it could drastically decrease the battery’s charge.
