My Pregnancy with My First Child

Rose family in 2011

Meet Amy. Mother of four boys and the wife of a minister in Georgia. Read, blog post by blog post, how she has learned, changed and grown during the many trials and tribulations of learning to raise a family of her own. Through smiles, tears and lots of laughter, she has learned that the path to successful child rearing is often the one that comes instinctively. And often the things derived from Mother Earth truly are best. The world is full of medical “miracles” but over time and lots of experience, this mom has discovered that raising a natural baby creates the most wonderful bonds and lessons for her children…

Breastfeeding Tips for the New Mom

Child breastfeeding

I tend to be lighthearted, but breastfeeding is a passion that I REALLY struggled with and feel that there is very little real life, practical advice out there. I wanted to offer that to others who may be preparing to have a little one, are currently struggling with breastfeeding or have in the past and plan to have more babies in the future…

Natural Childbirth Advice From a Mom

Pregnant belly

Natural childbirth is one thing I can say should be researched to death! No two labor and deliveries are the same, so researching coping mechanisms, ways to maintain energy during labor and more are essential. I read everything I could get my hands on.

Doula Training: My First Birth

Pregnant woman on yoga ball

I really just stood there and uttered some words (to mom, dad, doctors and nurses), rubbed a back, suggested new positions, wet a wash cloth and shed a few tears when that sweet little girl entered the earth. This was my first birth I attended as a doula and a key milestone in my doula training. And, it was amazing! The rush I felt was second only to the birth of my own children. I’ll start from the beginning…

Encapsulating Placenta: A DIY Guide and Benefits

Encapsulating placenta pills

The placenta is full of iron to help new mom’s body recover after birth but should you encapsulate your baby’s placenta? I’ve encapsulated several placentas now and I don’t always find out whether the clients found it helped them or not. I figure the ones it did help will probably contact me (and they have). No one has come begging for their money back…
